GILMORE WINS 3RD WORLD TITLE, MOORE WINS GIDGET PRO

Today was a big day as we wrapped up the Gidget Pro at Sunset Beach. 17 year old wildcard, Carissa Moore took 1st today, in one of the most exciting finals we've seen this year at the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. She had a two-wave total of 14.24 just enough to take home that $12,000 check. Stephanie Gilmore at 21 years old, bagged her 3rd consecutive ASP World Title, making history as the only surfer ever to win the prestigious crown each year they've competed on the ASP World Tour level (men’s or women’s). And Leila Hurst was also crowned today, as the 2009 Rookie of the Triple Crown. The girls really stepped it up today, if you didn't see the action that was going on, I suggest you check out the heats on demand on the Triple Crown website, the girls were shredding today.
